Boeing Adds Composites Atlantic Limited to 787 Team

Composites Atlantic Limited, an EADS Sogerma Services company, based in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, is pleased to announce that it has been selected by Boeing to fabricate the advanced composite diagonal brace for the 787 Dreamliner. Boeing and Composites Atlantic Limited will collaborate together in the integration of this composite primary structure in the pylon-to-wing attachment section of the aircraft.
Composites Atlantic Limited has received support from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) to help in the development of this advanced composite product. Composites Atlantic’s sales office in Seattle and its engineering office in Montreal have played a major role in the innovations associated with this product.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner
The 787 is a family of three super-efficient airplanes that will provide passengers with a better flying experience. The 787-8 Dreamliner will carry 223 passengers in three-classes of seating with a range of up to 8,500 nautical miles (15,700 kilometers). The 787-3 will carry 296 passengers in two-class seating on ranges up to 3,500 nautical miles (6,500 kilometers). The 787-9, a longer version of the 787-8, will carry 259 passengers in three classes with a range 8,300 nautical miles (15,400 kilometers).
